  A small mistake by a guitarist gave people a chance to laugh.  But only intelligent and connoisseur music lovers like RD Burman felt that this very big mistake is indeed a very beautiful discovery in the music world.  He used that mistake in one of his songs, which not only won the hearts of the people but also created history.

 In those days of the 70s, RD Burman and Kishore Kumar dominated Indian film music with yodeling and fun-filled songs, but the RD and Kishore duo had no classical and serious songs like SD Burman and Rafi.  They used to be very malicious, in such a way that this raag Bhairvi based song not only gave them that spiritual satisfaction but they also got the National Award.

 एक गिटारवादक की एक छोटी सी गलती ने लोगों को हंसने का मौका दे दिया।  किन्तु आर डी बर्मन जैसे बुद्धिमान और पारखी संगीत प्रेमी को  यूं लगा कि यह बहुत बड़ी गलती तो दरअसल संगीत की दुनिया की बहुत  सुंदर खोज है। उन्होंने अपने एक गाने में उस गलती का ऐसा इस्तेमाल किया,  जिसने न सिर्फ लोगों के दिलों को छुआ, बल्कि इतिहास रच दिया।

70 के दशक के उन दिनों में योडलिंग और मस्ती भरे गीतों से आरडी बर्मन और किशोर कुमार भारतीय फिल्म संगीत में छाए हुए थे , किन्तु RD और किशोर की जोड़ी के पास एसडी बर्मन और रफी की तरह का कोई क्लासिकल और संजीदा गीत नहीं था, जिसका उन्हें बड़ा मलाल होता था, ऐसे में राग भैरवी के इस गाने ने उन्हें न सिर्फ वो आत्मिक संतुष्टि दी बल्कि उन्हें राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार भी मिला।
