फिल्म usual suspect  में  एक पात्र वर्बल किंट कुजन को बताता है, की  "शैतान ने जो सबसे बड़ी चाल निकाली वह उस दुनिया को समझा रही थी जिसका वह अस्तित्व नहीं था।" 

 "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. 

 मैकक्वेरी ने उस पंक्ति को परिभाषित किया, जिसे मूल रूप से "शैतान की सबसे अच्छी चाल के रूप में लिखा गया था कि वह आपको बताए कि वह मौजूद नहीं है" फ्रांसीसी कवि चार्ल्स बौडेलेर द्वारा।

Verbal Kint tells Kujan, "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist." McQuarrie paraphrased the line, which was originally written as "The finest trick of the devil is to persuade you that he does not exist" by French poet Charles Baudelaire.
